Who do you think is the most popular athlete to ever live? From the US? If anybody has any data to backup their thoughts it would be great. Edited by Tunechi, Jan 9 2011, 02:49 AM.

For me, worldwide is probably between Ali, Jordan, and Pele. I think I would go with Ali. Most famous in the US is prob jordan |

I'm asking about in the world, not just in the US or from the US. If you went to some random city in Asia/Africa/Europe/South America, most people would know this persons name

True but what about Pele? The greatest player ever from the most popular sport in the world and the guy was a huge humanitarian. Same with Ali, extremely popular throughout the world and a huge humanitarian even after his competing days. |

Because everyone in the world watches American Football right? owait. I guarantee nobody out of the states even knows who he is never mind find him popular. Shit even Dan marino is more popular then him and i bet the only reason people knew him was cause he was in ace ventura. Edited by i-deR, Jan 9 2011, 04:34 AM.
